​How do I know which service would be best for my pet?

Some pets suffer from fear, anxiety and/or aggression and may require medication to help them cope. Or perhaps your pet Only a qualified veterinary behaviourist can legally prescribe, if your first response vet is not comfortable. In these instances, we recommend seeking support from

I would like to book an appointment with a veterinary behaviourist. However, my budget is tight. What do you recommend?

If your budget is tight, you can opt for a behaviour assessment with a qualified trainer. Rest assured; you will still receive support, and your trainer will liaise with one of our veterinary behaviourists, if required.

​How much time should I reserve for a Veterinary Behaviour Consultation, a Behaviour Assessment, follow-up, medication review and/or training sessions?

We kindly ask you to reserve 1.5 hours for a veterinary behaviour consultation and behaviour assessment. Follow-up consultations, medication reviews and training sessions take 1 hour.

Do you offer home visits?

Veterinary behaviour consultations are held in person at our centre, 584 Great South Road, Ellerslie.

Behaviour assessments and training sessions can be arranged at your home, or place of choice.

 

Please note, we do charge a call-out and mileage fee for travel to appointments offsite. 

​

We often use One Tree Hill as an offsite option, at no additional cost to you.

How long is the waiting time for an appointment?

You can expect to wait 6-8 weeks for a veterinary behaviour consultation. There are support options available if you need help sooner which we will happily discuss with you.

You can except to see a trainer for a behaviour assessment within 2-3 weeks.

What days do you operate?

Our administration desk is monitored Monday-Thursday from 8:30am-3pm.

 

Dr Jess Beer's consultations take place on Monday and Wednesday. Dr Emma Ruck's consultations take place on Thursday. We offer appointments from 9am and latest appointment is 3pm. There may be an opportunity for an appointment at 4pm with Dr Emma Ruck. However, these are often booked far in advance.​

Our trainers are scheduled at different days and times. However, you can except an appointment from Monday to Thursday between the hours of 9am-4:30pm. 

​

Classes and workshops take place after hours on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and weekends.

​

Please note, we are closed on Public Holidays.

I need help with a specific need (preparing my dog to fly, helping my dog feel comfortable with brushing their teeth, fitting a muzzle or harness). Can you help me?

Do you offer payment plan options for your services?
